The Simplicity Coater from Coburn Technologies provides an in-house UV hard coating solution for practices, and tinting and other specialty applications in larger labs. The system has a 98 percent yield rate average with select tintable and non-tintable coatings. It combines a wash station, coating station, and UV cure station in one fully enclosed countertop design. Features include a touch screen with simple controls and adjustments, and a programmable controller with multiple recipes for faster, easier coating changes.

Now available is ChangeRx FSV AR in 65mm and 70mm diameters and ChangeRx general purpose Novel, as well as short corridor Novella PALs. Novel measures an 80mm diameter with Novella at 75mm. All new styles are available in brown and gray color options.

Sunsync is a high-performance photochromic lens from VSP Optics Group that will complement the UNITY lens portfolio. Available in CR-39, polycarbonate, Trivex, and 1.67 high-index for most UNITY single-vision and progressive designs, the lenses—available in gray and brown—also block 100 percent UVA and UVB rays. VSP Optics Group representatives note that Sunsync is priced 10 to 15 percent below other photochromics on the market.

Adlens has released a more cutting–edge version of its variable focus eyewear, Adlens Adjustables, which features two wave-shaped plates that can glide across one another to alter the power of each lens. The brow bar is more ergonomic for a modern look; the improved optics result in an optimized reading zone; the nosepiece is adjustable for a comfortable fit; and the frame and temple arms have been developed to give the glasses a lightweight feel. The coatings include easy-to-clean super hydro or hydrophobic top coats and anti-static properties.
