Gunn recently held a conversation with fashion editors and Eyecare Business about his decision to work with Transitions Optical and how lens function can blend seamlessly with fashion-forward style.
 
You have a very distinctive eyewear look. What drives your personal eyewear selection?
 
I have an incredibly busy lifestyle, and I need a pair of eyeglasses that enhance my vision, no matter what type of lighting source, and look fabulous in the process. With my latest eyeglasses, I wanted to get the same rimless frame that I had before. I have been curious about Transitions lenses forever, and my optometrist recommended Transitions Signature lenses because they are completely clear indoors and have the perfect tint in sunlight outdoors.
 
What should eyewear consumers be considering when it comes to making a selection?
 
Three-quarters of Americans have vision correction, so eyeglasses are an important accessory. When selecting eyeglasses, your lifestyle, face shape and complexion will guide your selection. You also want to make sure your frame shape and color compliment you. For example, someone with a round face and light complexion would look great in a square frame that has a dark color.

And to those uninformed consumers who, surprisingly, may still say Transitions are “grandma’s” lenses, you say…..
 
Those people are thinking of the older technology. Transitions lenses are a highly advanced wearable technology that has made leaps and bounds the past few years. When I am indoors, my Transitions lenses are completely clear and no one knows I’m wearing them. When I’m outside, they darken just the right amount. It’s effortless! And the new fashion-forward frame styles look great with the lenses. Frankly, they have surpassed my expectations by far.
