Just off the heels of Vision Expo West, I am invigorated and inspired (if not just a little bit out-of-show-shape tired).
Yes, virtual events and digital touchpoints are a clear boon to us all birthed by this viscious pandemic—and they will continue.
But, the tangible excitement, three-dimensional connections, and optical buzz unpacked by this first-in-two-years in-person event is 100% real. Our hats off to The Vision Council and its CEO, Ashley Mills, and the Reed Exhibitions team, for putting in the hard work—even in times of doubt—to help move our industry forward. In the end, the show must go on for vision care to face the future successfully, together.
Looking to the future, I will most certainly be attending more virtual events and education than ever before—it remains eternally convenient and cost-effective—but I wholeheartedly look forward to Vision Expo East in New York City in March.
