SHAMIR
Glacier Expression, Autograph Intelligence
Shamir introduces Glacier Expression and the latest update to its Autograph Intelligence progressive lenses.
Glacier Expression is an anti-reflective coating with a strong signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), scratch resistance, and glare-reduction formula. According to Shamir, this coating reduces up to 70% more reflection than leading AR coatings, and the increase in SNR can help reduce fatigue and eye strain. Shamir launches this coating as a solution to the distractions that occur in tech-driven society, where videoconferencing is a new normal and lens glares and screen reflections damper human connection.
Glacier Expression is available in 1.50 plastic, 1.53 Trivex, and 1.59 polycarbonate, with additional materials to come.
Additionally, Shamir has updated one of its leading flagship lens designs. Since the launch of Autograph Intelligence in 2018, further research and data have improved this lens that, according to Shamir, evolves with your eyesight and offers advanced personalization through the use of artificial intelligence.

ALCON
Dailies Total1 for Astigmatism
Alcon launches Dailies Total1 for Astigmatism, the first daily disposable toric lens to use water-gradient technology for patients with astigmatism. According to Alcon, 32% of contact lens wearers have astigmatism, but only 10% wear toric lenses—the fastest-growing lens segment of the CL market.
This launch joins Alcon’s line of daily disposable lenses: Dailes Total1 (sphere) and Dailes Total1 Multifocal.
According to Alcon, the water-gradient material gradually increases water content, approaching 100% water at the surface. Alcon describes the area that touches the eye as a “cushion of moisture.” The lenses also feature Alcon’s Precision Balance 8|4 design, working to make Dailies Total1 settle in 37 seconds on average. Its SmarTears tech releases an ingredient naturally found in tears to stabilize the lipid layer of the tear film.

GSRX
epik N+D4 Pupil-Optimized Correction
GSRx unveils epik N+D4 Pupil-Optimized Correction, a technology that enhances contrast and provides clearer vision in low-light conditions and at night.
“A common complaint from patients is difficulty seeing clearly at night while driving,” says GSRx CEO David Jochims. “Pupil dilation in low-light conditions can change a patient’s refraction, but standard prescriptions don’t take this change into consideration.”
According to GSRx, an algorithm analyzed data from over a million eyeglass wearers to optimize the lens, providing the ability to see clearly at night without trading off daytime vision clarity. GSRx shares that this tech does not require specialized equipment to prescribe.
N+D4 technology is available in GSRx’s premium free-form lenses.
