Lauren Bianchi, director of global quality and compliance at Marchon Eyewear, has been elected as the vice chair of the American National Standards Institute Z80 Accredited Standards Committee for Ophthalmic Optics. Currently residing as chair of subcommittee three, Bianchi will bring 22 years of experience in the industry to her new position.

EssilorLuxottica has announced changes to its wholesale organization, led by Ludovic Ladreyt’s appointment as chief commercial officer for U.S. optical. With more than 25 years of experience, including senior vice president of optical sales, Ladreyt will be responsible for the broader U.S. optical organization. Reporting to Ladreyt, Jessica Kozak will expand her perimeter as senior vice president of U.S. regional to lead the U.S. independent business development and strategy for frames and lenses; Valerio Parisi has been promoted to senior vice president for U.S. regional and independents channel for frame sales; Matt Tackman will expand his role as senior vice president of U.S. optical national accounts to cover lab, lens, and frame sales; and Cha-ling Delgado has been promoted to vice president of U.S. national accounts for frames.

A professor of optometry, chair of University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB)’s Department of Optometry and Vision Science, and director of the cornea and contact lens service at UAB Eye Care, Adam Gordon, O.D., MPH, FAAO, has been named the CooperVision Endowed Faculty Scholar in Myopia Control and Contact Lenses by the UAB School of Optometry. The new faculty position will allow Dr. Gordon to explore related topics of his choice and collaborate with scholars and industry partners around the world.

The National Center for Children’s Vision and Eye Health at Prevent Blindness has named Donny W. Suh, M.D., FAAP, MBA, FACS, as the recipient of the eighth annual Bonnie Strickland Champion for Children’s Vision Award. Dr. Suh works in the Department of Ophthalmology at the Gavin Herbert Eye Institute at the University of California at Irvine as a professor and chief of pediatric ophthalmology. He was honored with this award in recognition of his approach to connecting vision to overall health by aligning pediatrics and eye care and his participation in critical children’s vision and eye health research.
