VISIONIX USA
Briot Attitude 3
Visionix USA has launched the Briot Attitude 3, a lens-processing device designed to elevate in-house finishing capabilities while reducing the rate of remakes.
This update to the Briot Attitude device includes a torque management system, a new feature that allows eyecare professionals to maintain a steady and accurate level of pressure to the lens, which, Visionix shares, reduces the risk of misalignment even on hydrophobic lenses. In addition, the TruFit Bevel uses frame thickness, bevel position, and depth to determine the ideal bevel position, width, and height for lens fit, according to the company, and the torque management system adjusts edging cycles to the thickness of the lens and material.
According to the company, the Briot Attitude 3 combines parallax-free centering and wavefront technology and works with Shack-Hartman technology, allowing the lens design, layout, and power map to be visible and the optical power and prism to be displayed. The device’s high-definition camera displays detailed laser engravings on progressive lenses and shows the lens map in the background, enabling ECPs to see where power channels will be, which enhances visual comfort and lens performance, according to Visionix.
Designed for easy operation, the Briot Attitude 3 fits in compact spaces and features a touch screen, enabling ECPs to toggle between functionalities.
VERSÉA OPHTHALMICS
T-POC Total IgE Immunoassay Kit
Verséa Ophthalmics has introduced a quantitative point-of-care test for diagnosing and managing patients with ocular surface disease, the Tear-based Point-of-Care (T-POC) Total Immunoglobulin (IgE) Immunoassay Kit.
According to the company, the T-POC Total IgE Immunoassay Kit measures the actual levels of IgE and provides a numerical value, as IgE is a key biomarker associated with allergic conjunctivitis, but symptoms of this disease often mimic symptoms of dry eye disease or infectious conjunctivitis. With the T-POC Total IgE Immunoassay Kit, eyecare professionals can use the numerical value to inform the prescribing decision, and if the test is repeated after treatment, it can potentially allow for confirmation of a desired therapeutic response.
