Dec. 15, 2021 — Luxury goods company LVMH and eyewear producer/distributor Marcolin have released a joint statement on the future of Thélios, the eyewear venture started by the companies in 2017.
Marcolin and LVMH have jointly decided for Thélios to become fully integrated within LVMH. Specifically, the companies have reaches an agreement for LVMH to purchase the 49% stake held by Marcolin in Thélios. Separately, Marcolin will purchase back the 10% stake LVMH owns in it, which LVMH acquired when Thélios was founded nearly five years ago.
LVMH currently houses 75 brands across six divisions: fashion and leather goods, perfume and cosmetics, selective retailing, watches and jewelry, wine and spirits, and other activities (including lifestyle, culture, and the arts).
Italian eyewear company Marcolin was founded in 1961, with a portfolio of brands including house brands Web, Marcolin, and Viva and licensed brands Tom Ford, Guess, adidas Sport, adidas Originals, Bally, Moncler, Max Mara, Sportmax, Ermenegildo Zegna, Longines, OMEGA, GCDS, Barton Perreira, Tod's, Emilio Pucci, BMW, Swarovski, MAX&Co., Covergirl, Kenneth Cole, Timberland, GANT, Harley-Davidson, Marciano, Skechers, and Candie’s.
