May 6, 2021 — Silmo Paris organizers have announced the next in-person edition of the Silmo optical fair will take place Sept. 24-27, 2021 at Paris Nord Villepinte.
Silmo organizers cite the French government’s recent announcement of a reopening plan following the country’s lockdown measures amid Covid-19. More specifically, beginning on June 30, there will be no maximal capacity for trade shows, conferences, and exhibitions as long as health measures still in force are observed.
“After two years without any major international assemblies, the reunion of optical and eyewear industry professionals will only be more intense, I’m sure,” says Amélie Morel, chairwoman of Silmo Paris. “The whole team of Silmo Paris is hard at work to prepare this recovery edition, and we are looking forward to seeing you. We can’t wait to amaze you once again with the talent of these enthusiastic professionals. We can’t wait to enjoy the delight of discovery, the opportunity for encounters, and the conviviality of discussions. It is clear that all the technology in the world will never replace the power and emotion of a physical event.”
Silmo at Paris Nord Villepinte was cancelled in 2020 due to Covid-19, but the show hosted various small optical gatherings in Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon, Rennes, and Brussels from October to November 2020, called “Silmo Outside the Walls.”
