Nov. 18, 2021 — To better serve West Coast customers, Warby Parker has opened a second U.S. lab, this one in the Las Vegas area. The new 69,000-square-foot lab, located in downtown Summerlin, NV, is designed to primarily serve customers whose facilities are located west of Texas.
 
The New York City-based company’s other lab, now a 52,000-square-foot facility, opened in 2016 and is located in Sloatsburg, NY. That lab currently employs more than 120 team members. Together, the two locations will serve the company’s more than 150 retail locations that are spread across the U.S. and Canada. All told, the company plans to add 130 jobs within the first two years of opening the facility.
 
This new lab will give Warby Parker the ability to increase production and shipping capabilities, while also scaling up in-house manufacturing processes as it grows. Employees at the lab will work on customer experience and supply chain teams.
 
Summerlin is already familiar to the company, as it opened the first Nevada Warby Parker retail location there in 2019. The company has expressed its eagerness to invest more in this community and to continue contributing to the local economy.

 

The space is designed in the true Warby Parker tradition, with pops of color throughout. Shades of blue are everywhere, from tinted glass panels in cerulean and cobalt blue to a custom-designed navy and white marble reception desk.
 
Original artwork is abundant throughout as well, thanks to the works of local artist Pretty Done.
Combining his signature mix of levity and boldness, murals in the new facility include an upbeat greeting in the open office area and an outer-space-themed one in a call room.
 
“The inspiration was to make it refreshing and playful,” says Done. “The process was very intuitive, putting things through my lens and making something that would live in Warby Parker’s world.”
