April 21, 2022 — On Tuesday, April 26, at 7:30 p.m., the Black EyeCare Perspective Pre-Optometry Club (BEPPOC) will host a virtual Signing Day to celebrate its members who have been accepted into the optometry Class of 2026. The first nationally recognized pre-optometry club by the Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry, BEPPOC has extended the Signing Day welcome to anyone who is starting an optometry program in the fall.
 
Accepted students can participate in a video contest to win a $1,000 matriculation scholarship. Chosen for the most creative reveal of their Signing Day choice, the winner will be announced at the event.
 
Black EyeCare Perspective’s 13% Promise initiative is a call for Black representation in the eyecare industry to align with the U.S. population. The inaugural Signing Day event, in partnership with Johnson & Johnson Vision, celebrated the acceptance of 34 students into the class of 2025.
