July 11, 2024 — The 2024 Silmo Paris trade fair, set to take place Sept. 20-23 at the Paris Nord Villepinte, will host over 900 exhibitors and 1,500 brands from 144 countries to highlight the latest technological developments, product innovations, and industry trends.
Silmo Paris will highlight all aspects of the optics sector including eyewear, lenses, equipment, point-of-sale layouts, and retail intel. Silmo Next, a space dedicated to exploring future trends and technologies, reflects the fair’s mission “to be at the cutting edge of the aesthetic and technological challenges of a sector firmly focused on the future.”
The Futurology space at Silmo Paris will offer immersive experiences and insights into the future of optics, featuring technological innovations and interactive displays. Highlights include the following:
- The Shop/Workshop of Tomorrow will showcase the combination of physical and virtual worlds to enhance customer experience with mobile, virtual reality (VR), and artificial intelligence technologies.
- Central Area: The Latest Innovations will feature the newest advancements with presentations, workshops, and connected product displays.
- The AR/VR/XR Experimental Area will offer immersive experiences and demonstrations of smart eyewear integrating advanced features with a focus on raising awareness about vision impairment.

- The Trends by Silmo Forum Exhibition will display the latest eyewear designs, highlighting key trends such as bold color combinations, minimalist designs, timeless classics, and the growing importance of sunglasses.
- Open to design students worldwide, the 2024 Optical and Eyewear Design Contest—overseen by designer Olivier Jault—encourages students to innovate and reimagine eyewear beyond its traditional function.
- The Silmo d’Or awards, celebrating its 30th anniversary, will recognize excellence in the industry with nominated products on display at the tradeshow.
