The Vision Council has appointed Kris Stevens as vice president of research. In the role, Stevens will lead the organization’s inSights Research Program, which includes market intelligence reporting, industry analysis, and custom research services. Stevens joined the organization in 2022 and has contributed to the development of several research initiatives and tools, such as the market model used for the annual Market inSights report and forecast, as well as the Tariff Dashboard and other member resources.

Safilo Group announced that it has signed a share and asset purchase agreement with Bollé Brands for the acquisition of the SPY+ and Serengeti brands, following the exclusivity agreement disclosed on April 21. According to the companies, the transaction includes the acquisition of selected SPY+ and Serengeti assets in Europe, as well as 100% of the shares of 2 legal entities operating in the United States and Canada. Combined sales for SPY+ and Serengeti totaled approximately $39 million in 2025. The agreed purchase price is $26 million, subject to customary closing adjustments, and will be financed through Safilo’s existing financial resources. The transaction is expected to close within 2 months, pending customary closing conditions and approvals.

CooperVision announced the launch of a new 180-pack option for its MyDay Energys daily disposable contact lenses. The company said the new pack size provides a 6-month supply intended to support patient convenience and improve practice efficiency by reducing reordering frequency.
