Silmo has announced the launch of Silmo Riyadh, a new trade event for the optics and eyewear industry that will take place April 2-4, 2027, at the Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Center (RICEC) in Saudi Arabia.
Intended to serve as a platform for optical industry stakeholders in the Middle East, Silmo Riyadh will focus on fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange, and business development opportunities across the vision care sector, according to Silmo.
Organizers cited continued growth in the regional optical market as a key factor behind the event: The Middle East optical market is estimated to exceed $7.6 billion, including approximately $2.2 billion in Saudi Arabia, with annual growth rates reported between 8% and 10%.
Silmo Riyadh will be held alongside several related industry events, including the 6th World Congress of Optometry, the annual congress of the Saudi Society of Optometry, and OptiVision, a platform focused on local industry participants. The combined format is designed to integrate product showcases, scientific and educational programming, and networking opportunities for attendees.
The event is being organized in collaboration with the Saudi Society of Optometry, which will provide local support and scientific programming. Organizers said the partnership is intended to combine regional expertise with Silmo’s experience in hosting international optical industry events.
Silmo said the launch reflects its ongoing efforts to expand into emerging markets and create professional platforms that address developments and challenges within the global optical sector.
