GAME Celebrity Eyes Can you identify these famous folks in their eyewear? Take a guess and click on the photos to see how well you fare at celebrity spotting... By Erinn Morgan Celebrity eyewear has become an important and entertaining part of the optical business. Many dispensers carry celebrity lines and use posters and P-O-P in-store displays to draw consumers to the lines of these recognizable faces. And as most fashion designer licenses seem to already be on the market, eyewear companies are turning more and more to celebrities to launch new and different lines. One company, Shane Michael, has even dubbed themselves "The House of Stars" and boasts the celebrity lines of Lauren Bacall, Humphrey Bogart, George Burns, Gracie Allen, and most recently, Bette Davis. The first celebrity eyewear line launched was back in January of 1980-Sophia Loren with Zyloware. "My father saw her interviewed on The Dick Cavett Show," says Chris Shyer, marketing director of Zyloware. "And Cavett said to her, 'Why would you wear glasses when you are one of the most beautiful women in the world...Why not contact lenses?' And she said to him 'I think they make me even more beautiful.' My father said, 'Wow, what a great spokesperson she will be.' He knew he had to pursue a license with her." To test your own celebrity spotting skills try to identify the celebrities (all of whom have eyewear lines) from their eyes and eyewear on this page. Then click on each photo to see how well you played the game. Good luck!
