Driving Your Practice
Don't Be Left Out of
the Loop
By Vision Council of America
Vision Council of America has created a new monthly electronic newsletter, The I Care Newsletter, which will serve as a vehicle to highlight the strategies and techniques that eyecare professionals can use to raise vision health awareness both locally and nationally. The newsletter will feature the "Check Yearly. See Clearly." campaign--the vision community's new public awareness program.
Through the newsletter, eyecare professionals can be kept up to date on the campaign, learn how to participate, and become acquainted with the Check Yearly tools and products available to them, VCA representatives say.
Introduced in June, The I Care Newsletter also gives readers the opportunity to submit articles and ideas, thus sharing with others in the optical community how they're raising vision awareness within their communities. The publication's goal is to continuously provide eyecare professionals with ideas on how they can use their expertise as a community service. The newsletter will also recognize eyecare professionals who have demonstrated exemplary efforts to raise vision health awareness.
"We thought the newsletter would serve as a great way to motivate eyecare professionals to become active in the Check Yearly campaign," said VCA's manager of professional and consumer relations, Rob Philips.
"It will also give proper credit to eyecare professionals who are serving their communities and doing their part to raise the public's awareness of vision health. My hope is that other eyecare professionals will be inspired by the ideas that the newsletter will bring forth, and start using similar methods in their own hometowns," he says.
The I Care Newsletter is published monthly by the Vision Council of America and is sent out via e-mail. Eyecare professionals also have the option of downloading the newsletter from www.checkyearly.com.
All eyecare professionals who have ordered Check Yearly materials will be added to the mailing list. Make sure you are in the loop by filling out the form located below and faxing it back to VCA at 703-548-4580.
