Equipment
Spic-N-Span
PSI has added the Automatic Lap Cleaner (ALC) to their equipment line. ALC cleans and dries aluminum laps after each use. Using this automated system to clean laps can provide cost savings by reducing labor costs. Money will also be saved in the long run by preventing dents to the lap. Laps are loaded directly from the cylinder lines onto the ALC's conveyor. They travel through a wash area to clean away any polish residue. Laps are then taken through the drying chamber where a stream of cool air pushes water to the edges, leaving the lap completely dry. For information, call 800-237-8154 or visit the company site, www.LookToPSI.com.
Premier Processing
Gerber Coburn has added the CMX50 Finer/Polisher to its Performance Series line. The technology combines optimal processing times with pressures set to a lab's specified lens materials, including CR 39, polycarbonate, glass, and high index, to allow for accurate lenses. CMX50 keeps work functions conveniently in one area with a built-in pad dispenser, work shelf, and a lens/lap wash pan. The CMX50 accommodates Gerber's standard pin AccuBlock or LOH surface blocks.
