MODO INTRODUCES SAKI

From MODO Eyewear comes the SAKI collection, utilizing exotic materials like Indonesian teak wood and buffalo horn. The wood is oven-dried and seasoned for two to three years. It is strong and extremely high in natural oils and also specially treated so that it won't absorb dirt or skin oils. These properties help maintain the wood's endurance, and if the eyewear is properly maintained, the wood will not warp, rot, split, or crack.

This luxurious SAKI collection offers 11 styles of buffalo horn frames and eight styles of wood combination frames. They are available in gold, platinum, matte brown, and gun. "The exotic materials used in these frames is what sets the collection apart from others," says Kate Magnane, marketing assistant. "MODO wanted to create a sophisticated, yet classical style with this collection. By using natural materials like buffalo horn and Indonesian teak wood, SAKI has created a unique and rich appearance created by the finest Japanese artisans."

COLORS IN OPTICS ANNOUNCES ROCAWEAR

Following a sunwear launch in 2005, Colors in Optics Ltd., has now introduced an ophthalmic collection from Rocawear, the popular lifestyle apparel brand. The collection includes 18 men's and women's styles. Frames feature embellishments such as Swarovski crystal and 18-karat gold, as well as both handcrafted wood and bone temples.

"We are thrilled to be adding a new dimension to the Rocawear eyewear collection," says Sanford Hutton, president of Colors in Optics. "Rocawear's ever-expanding presence in the fashion accessories market defines today's latest trends. We are excited to complement the brand's current collections with stylish ophthalmic frames."

CHARMANT LAUNCHES LACOSTE

Charmant has introduced the LACOSTE ophthalmic collection of 11 men's styles and nine women's styles. The line is comprised of a materials like titanium, metal, acetate, and CFX. "Charmant has created a diverse collection for men and women," explains Dee Berghuys, director for product development. "The goal was to fuse style, technology, and ingenuity, creating fashion for a fashionable customer."
