Eyewear by ROI announced that Dominic Parisi has joined the company as vice president of sales. Parisi joins Eyewear by ROI after 17 years (including eight as sales manager) with Balester Optical. Eyewear by ROI's Dominic Parisi Luxottica Group has appointed Victor Melendez to vice president-marketing. Melendez joins Luxottica from Pepsi-Cola North America, where he served as vice president of marketing. Prior, he was a senior-level marketing executive with Inbev USA and Miller Brewing. Practical Systems, Inc., has named J.C. Wilkerson technical sales manager in the Northeastern U.S. Wilkerson is an optical industry veteran with over 23 years experience in lab management, lens processing system sales, technical services, and product management. PSI's J.C. Wilkerson Viva International Group has named Sal Rianna chief financial officer and chief administrative officer. Briot USA is offering a price guarantee for customers purchasing new edging equipment. Through the rest of 2009, if Briot advertises a better offer within 60 days (excluding trade show specials), the company will refund the difference.
The Vision Council announced that NSL Analytical is the preferred testing lab for the association. NSL Analytical provides The Vision Council member companies with preferred pricing on all testing.

Optometry's Charity, the AOA Foundation's Endowment Fund Advisory Committee, recently named its 2009 scholarship grant recipients. The winners are Jacoby Dewald, Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry, $2,500 Dr. Seymour Galina Grant; Jessica Unruh, University of Houston College of Optometry, $5,000 InfantSEE scholarship grant; and David Barnhart, Ohio State University College of Optometry, $5,000 Healthy Eyes Healthy People scholarship grant. Runners-up are Chad Anderson, Pacific University College of Optometry, and Brian Moore, Indiana University School of Optometry.
