ECPs Speak out on Vendor selection and ClearVision's role with their Businesses
Albuquerque Vision Clinic
Tucked into an affluent corner of historic Albuquerque, this five-doctor optometric practice boasts a moderate-to-high-price frame selection with over 1,100 styles on display. Bob Quick, OD, shares his vision…
Q: What are your top criteria for vendor selection?
The ability to work with my optical manager to make sure the frames are turning at least one to two times a month is key. We look for vendors that will help us manage our frame board for optimal profits. Policies on returns and warranties are also important.
Q: How does CVO provide unique value to your business?
Their products are good and cover several price points, plus we have an excellent rep who provides great service. We also like the fact that we just have to deal with one rep as opposed to other vendors where you have to see three reps for all the product lines.
Retail Sales Navy Exchange
Located in Virginia Beach, the Navy Exchange offers a wide assortment of products, including eyewear, apparel, and electronics, to Navy and other military personnel and their families. Corporate Services Buyer Denise Pearson explains how ClearVision fits into their mix.
Q: How does ClearVision provide unique value to your business?
They are one of the few companies where one representative is responsible for all brands per location, versus multiple reps servicing one location. This saves us time and money at the store level when only one rep visits, especially since our focus is on their entire line of product and not just a segment. The communication is streamlined by working with just one “go to” person.
Q: What do you expect from the reps you work with?
Our expectations of all reps are to visit our store periodically, to provide product training, to work with our customers, and to review new assortments.
Access Eye Centers
This busy three-location ophthalmology and optometric practice in Fredericksburg, Va., has eight doctors and 10 optical employees. Practice manager Michele Bautista takes a moment to discuss vendor selection and ClearVision.
Q: How many vendors do you work with?
We have 22 but it's too much. In the last few months, we've weeded a lot out and we plan to cut more. Choosing core vendors and working with fewer makes it a lot easier to save time and get business done.
Q: Why will ClearVision remain one of your vendors of choice?
Our rep takes care of us like we're family and I can depend on him for just about anything. The fact that they care so much shines through and ClearVision has helped us grow our profits in a very specific way.
Wheaton Eye Clinic
Located in the Chicago suburbs, this four-location practice has grown its business with ClearVision for over 25 years. Manager Wayne Delaney explains how.
Q: What is your vendor philosophy?
We do business with four strong vendors that provide us with 90 percent of our products. This saves us time on various levels. We don't have a lot of vendors and ClearVision is one of them because they offer a significant array of products
Q: How does CVO provide unique value to your business?
All of the sales reps we've had have been extremely attentive to our account and they all have longevity with the company. They are always helpful and there when you need them — this has always been our main benefit in dealing with ClearVision.
