The Founder's P.O.V. When company founder Fred Friedfeld was searching for a replacement for a key employee, his wife Mimi agreed to fill in and help out on a temporary basis. That was 39 years ago. Q: What has your role been over the years? I have worn just about every hat. I introduced our first computer system, hired additional office help, and did most of the early designing of our product. Q: What do you enjoy now that you have more time off? I guess what I enjoy most now is LIFE. I love to spend time at CVO but I do have a wonderful, busy schedule. Fred and I have traveled to almost every country in the world. I also enjoy seeing the success of all my children and my sons are incredible—our future could not be in better hands. I am also involved in our company's philanthropy. Q: Why are you drawn to charity efforts? As a little girl we always had a “blue box” in the kitchen into which we would put our change. When it was full we would give it to charity. I always knew it was important to give as much as we could to those in need. I have always been very involved in raising funds for cancer research — ClearVision not only donates money but we also give many gifts in the form of products plus our time and resources. |
