PPG Announces Force Majeure |
---|
Recent significant flooding in Thailand has impacted PPG Industries' product manufacturing and distribution operations, prompting the company to declare force majeure for certain optical products. The decision was based on production suspensions at the company's Solarlens facilities in Bang-Pa and Lat Krabang. The Chon Buri facility is still in operation, but has been indirectly affected by customers in the flooded districts of Thailand. According to Richard C Elias, PPG senior vice president, optical and specialty materials, the flooding has hindered PPG's ability to provide some products to its customers. A timeframe of when operations will be restored to normal cannot be given at this time. |
