BOYS’ FRAMES
Boys will be Boys
It’s Winsome and Win Some for today’s young male eyewear consumers, who are seeking vision correction, eye protection, style, and more from their glasses
BY AMY SPIEZIO
It’s not always easy to get boys into their glasses. Take Noah, for example. The four-year-old was reluctant to wear his new and necessary specs until his tech- smart mom, Lindsey Fisher, started the Facebook page Glasses For Noah. A year and 93,000+ likes later, and Noah has a full eyewear wardrobe, including sun and ophthalmic eyewear that he has worn in photos posted to the social media page as well as during appearances on local news programs and even The Today Show.
While convincing boys to put on their glasses may not be the easiest part of the day for most parents, the selection of frames is increasingly easy thanks to more style and function options taken into consideration by the following large-scale and independent eyewear brands alike.

The Blue Crew
In a recent survey of iPhone 5C buyers conducted by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP), the blue color option was found to be a hot choice for men. Blue’s sleek and chic appeal continues into the junior men’s set where blue eyewear and sunglasses are as hot as a blue flame. Whether mixed with more conservative torts or used as a splashy highlight, blue is on board.

Sports are a way of life for American youth, with a staggering 35 million U.S. kids playing in organized sports each year, reports statisticbrain.com. And a good number of these kids are looking for eyewear, whether it’s specifically for sports or it’s non-goggle eyewear that’s designed to stand up to the rigors of active living. While every parent may dream of junior buying them a house after their successful seasons as a major leaguer, watching their little stars shine in cute eyewear on the local team is fun, too.
