PUBLISHER’S LETTER
Build It, and They Will Come
you’ve probably seen the movie, “Field of Dreams,” where a “dream” baseball field is built and people come in droves to watch a baseball game. Great story, but it doesn’t happen like that in magazine publishing.
Eyecare Business celebrates its 30th anniversary next year.
It took years of producing actionable, relevant business content to achieve reaching 40,000 ECPs every month, each of whom personally requests to receive the magazine. Not an easy accomplishment for any business magazine—unless the content is spot on for the reader.
BUSINESS INFORMATION
Hats off to Steph De Long, our editor-in-chief for nearly 25 years, and her entire staff for producing top-notch content each month. A good business magazine has a loyal following, and Steph has done a stellar job of delivering critical business information to ECPs like you who are hungry to push business and profits forward.
Eyecare Business has become an essential business tool that keeps getting stronger all the time. Steph has truly built one of the most respected and well-read eyecare publications in the industry among both O.D.s and opticians. We thank her for all the great work over the years.
Starting in September, Steph will pass the editor-in-chief and editorial director batons to the long-time fashion and market editor for Eyecare Business, Erinn Morgan. Steph will continue on at Eyecare Business as editorial director emeritus, beginning September 1, 2015. She will also continue to speak at industry events and author articles in every issue of Eyecare Business, while also working on newsletter and electronic media products (see news story, Page 18).
