AMERICAN-MADE PRODUCTS
they have allure and the distinct appeal of craftsmanship. From eyewear to bags from Shinola and t-shirts from Buck Mason, Made-in-America goods are having a bit of a “moment.”
But, especially in the case of eyewear manufacture, that moment may be a lasting one. Companies like Shwood (shown), Capital, optician Valerie Vittu’s 360 Squareyes, and the newly launched State Optical are forging the way with homeland manufacturing facilities that are driven by a pure passion for quality and workmanship.
And with good reason. According to a recent Consumer Reports survey, almost 8 in 10 American consumers say they would rather buy an American-made product than an imported one. Additionally, more than 60% of respondents say they’re even willing to pay 10% more for products made in America.
