ASIAN FIT EYEWEAR
universal Fit, Global Fit, Asian Fit—all terms used to define the emerging eyewear category that targets the country’s fastest-growing population segment: Asian Americans.
According to the Pew Research Center, Asian Americans are the highest-income, best-educated, and most life- and financially satisfied racial group in the U.S. Their numbers—over 18.2 million in 2011—have also surpassed the country’s Hispanic population. According to Census Bureau data, the number of U.S. native and foreign-born Asian residents rose 56% from the 2000 Census to the 2013 American Community Survey.
This is exactly why eyewear designed to specifically fit the unique needs and facial features of Asian Americans is becoming more readily available today via new lines and extensions of existing lines. Asian Fit eyewear offers features such as a wider front, thicker nosepiece, and higher lenses. Do you have Asian patients with unique fitting needs?
