CooperVision Unveils Contacts for Digital Eye Strain
CooperVision has introduced Biofinity Energys contact lenses with Digital Zone Optics lens design, a product created specifically to help digital device users with eye fatigue. The lenses combine breakthrough optical properties, an advanced silicone hydrogel material, and a smooth, naturally wettable surface.
According to CooperVision, the patent-pending contact lenses, which are designed for all-day wear, help people’s eyes better adapt as they shift focus between digital devices and offline activities.
“As a contact lens specifically designed for millions of digital device users, Biofinity Energys paves the way for meeting their demanding needs in a wholly new manner. Our research and development team broke new ground, discovering a way to address both optical and comfort aspects in a contact lens created to be worn throughout the day.”

In addition, the Digital Zone Optics design integrates multifocal front-surface aspheric curves across the entire optical zone. The curves distribute power evenly, says the company, simulating more positive power in the center of the lens—thus helping ease the accommodative burden associated with digital screen use.
Biofinity Energys lenses will be available in the same material and parameter range as Biofinity sphere lenses, with an 8.6mm base curve, .08mm center thickness at -3.00D, and 14mm diameter in sphere powers from +8.00 to -12.00. The Dk/t of Biofinity Energys is also the same as Biofinity sphere (160 at -3.00D).
CooperVision has also launched a complementary website as a resource to help ECPs begin conversations with patients about the effects of digital device use. Find it at FightEyeFatigue.com.

To help practices be advocates for eye health in their communities, the lab is offering educational resources that explain the importance of everything from Transitions and digital lenses to blue light protection, sports eyewear, and more to kids and their parents.
These features, along with other frame and lens options, are available in Walman’s Way Cool, C&B Scene, and ProLens packages. Competitive pricing is available year-round, according to the company.
Now through October 14, ECPs can receive cash bonuses, lab credit, and premium gifts through special frame and lens promotions for kids, teens, and adults.

A New Way to Display
One Interior, a display and design firm that specializes in bringing customization and modernization to the optical space, has launched a new frame display line called CREATE.
The magnetic design of the line creates flexibility within the display, offering each dispenser the opportunity to alter the layout, function, and capacity of the fixture to their own needs.
ECPs can break up their frame presentation to spotlight a special frame, add shelving to highlight certain product, or place merchandising elements.
Other items that can easily be added to the magnetic setup are shelving, accent boxes, and mirrors—all available from One Interior—or specific logo merchandising from frame vendors.
All accessories are available in a variety of sizes and colors.
The CREATE display has remote-controlled, dimmable back lighting to provide shadow-free lighting that is not affected by the individual display setups.
