Worldwide eyewear distributor Safilo Group and Vogue magazine have partnered for “A Forward Vision For Eyewear Heritage,” a contest for young designers and innovative individuals to create a piece of eyewear that “backs up future with tradition.” Safilo hopes to extend its heritage, dating back to 1878, by rewarding designers with prizes that highlight eyewear craftsmanship and sustainability.
Three winners will be selected to take part in either:
1. Developing a piece that will be produced and distributed with Safilo,
2. Contribution in the making of a prototype, or,
3. Admission to attend the Safilo Product School, a three-year program for craftsmanship with seminars/regular classroom training.
Winners will be selected by a jury of experts, including Franca Sozzani (editor-in-chief, Vogue Italia and L’Uomo Vogue) and Luisa Delgado (CEO, Safilo).
