Small yet mighty, eyewear cases are an eye-catching accoutrement with a purpose

Remedy the unprotected eyewear epidemic by serving up an assortment of the most eye-popping eyewear cases around. And, gain a lucrative add-on sale in the process.

On-trend and in line with the season’s biggest style trends, cases are dripping in saturated hues—including the much-loved blues and brights that are in vogue. Cases also take a shine to metallics, which are printed and embossed for added dimension. And not to be missed are cases that employ unique, triangular shapes plus bold and beautiful prints, such as geometrics, that are so of-the-moment in apparel. Case interiors are no shrinking violet, either—many are hopped up with both contrasting and matching bright linings.

Think cases are small potatoes when it comes to sales? According to the Eyecare Business Market Trends Study 2015, accessories sales rank as seventh in the top 10 specialty categories for ECPs today—outranked only by the likes of the Rx sunwear, children’s eyewear, plano sunwear, and sports eyewear markets.

In addition, a full 20% of eyecare professionals surveyed say they sell accessories, such as eyeglass cases, online, according to the same EB Market Trends Study.
