{LICENSE LINEUP}
The McGee Group has announced a new licensing agreement with fashion designer Trina Turk. The license will feature optical and sunwear. The first collection will launch at Vision Expo West in September.

Bausch + Lomb appointed Greg DiPasquale as vice president of sales for its U.S. Vision Care business. DiPasquale was senior vice president for ZEISS Vision Care prior to joining Bausch + Lomb, and he has 25 years of experience in sales management, business development, and strategic planning.
VISION EASE announced three new sales and marketing appointments to enhance its global communications. Grady Lenski has been promoted to chief marketing officer; Steve Reiman has been hired as vice president of sales, North America; and David George has been promoted to senior director, North America key accounts and Canada.
Vuarnet appointed Chad Smith as Rx sales development director in North America. Smith has 28 years of experience working with eyewear brands and was the executive trainer at Maui Jim prior to joining Vuarnet.
Coburn Technologies, Inc. appointed Brandie Shaw as its new national sales manager. Shaw has more than 25 years of experience in the industry and joined Coburn Technologies in February.
Diana Canto-Sims has joined the Transitions Optical, Inc. 2016 Diversity Advisory Board. Canto-Sims joins returning members Allert Brown-Gort, Brian Chou, Mila Ferrer, Edwin Marshall, Kirk Smick, and Vincent K. Young.
GSRx, Inc. announced that Jeff Hopkins has joined the company as marketing director. Hopkins held prior positions with SOLA Optical and ZEISS Vision Care.
Todd Butsch has been promoted by Vista Outdoor as national sales manager of the company’s optical division (Bollé and Serengeti Eyewear).

Liberty Sport announced that its patented Switch Magnetic Interchange technology is being used by NASA. Two styles, the Zealot and the Bespoke, have qualified as eyewear for NASA’s astronauts.
Adlens has a new tagline (“How Tomorrow Looks”) and logo. The new brand identity was officially revealed at the Museum of Modern Art during Vision Expo East. The change was led by James Methven, recently appointed vice president of marketing at Adlens.
Schneider Optical Machines North America has relocated to a new, larger facility at 6644 All Stars Ave., Suite 100, Frisco, TX 75033. All phone and fax numbers remain the same.

Silhouette International received a Red Dot Award for Product Design for its Titan Minimal Art Pulse. The award marks the fourth time that Silhouette has been honored with a Red Dot Award, and it’s the eighth overall design award for the Titan Minimal Art.

The National Center for Children’s Vision and Eye Health at Prevent Blindness has announced its call for nominations for the 2016 Bonnie Strickland Champion for Children’s Vision Award. The award recognizes key efforts by an individual or group of individuals to improve public health approaches for children’s vision and eye health at the state or national level. The deadline to apply is June 17.

Silhouette International named Jan Rosenberg its new CEO. Rosenberg has prior experience in international brands and sales, specifically as CEO of the CBR Fashion Group. Rosenberg will manage the family-owned company with Thomas Windischbauer, chief operating officer and chief financial officer.

Safilo Group has named Henri Blomqvist its CEO of Safilo North America, and also given him responsibility for the Group’s Global Sports Commercial Channel. Blomqvist served as Safilo Group’s chief commercial officer for three years.

The theme of the 2016 academic symposium will be “Reading,” which will be explored via three special sessions, one each on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Topics include understanding the reading process in children and adults for vision specialists.

The Global Specialty Lens Symposium (GSLS), the largest contact lens conference in North America, has announced a major expansion. For 2016, attendees to the Optometric Management Symposium (OMS) will be able to experience the depth and breadth of GSLS in a special one-and-a-half-day GSLS continuing education program.
Conducted in Orlando on Dec. 1-2, 2016, this event provides OMS attendees with fully accredited COPE and NCLE courses that bring the information available at the worldwide GSLS event in Las Vegas to Florida.
The GSLS program will cover vital issues including understanding the role of ocular shape in custom contact lens fitting; corneal reshaping options; and custom soft lenses for unusual corneas, astigmatism, and presbyopia.
