Shamir Insight, Inc., has launched an online education portal that provides free training for eyecare professionals. An offering of 21 Shamir-developed self-guided presentations covers topics ranging from practice management, optics, and managed care to new technology and Shamir products.

The portal also offers, in conjunction with Quantum Optical (and for a small fee), access to more than 90 courses for CE credits, including four COPE courses. Shamir is also working on developing a portal for labs with the same idea in mind, which it says will be released soon.

HOYA Vision Care has announced the availability of a new, free ABO course on Empower U, the company’s online training center. Titled “See the Light: HOYA Sensity, New Light Reactive Lenses,” the course aims to help ECPs understand the technology of Sensity photochromic lenses. It also offers ideas on how to communicate the effectiveness of light-reactive lenses for all patients and patient conditions.
