jamie Chung loves glasses. And fashion. And social media. And, the actress and social media influencer usually combines all three in her wildly popular fashion blog (whatthechung.com ).
Chung has recently joined forces with Transitions Optical for “The Good Light Project,” a consumer campaign to increase awareness of harmful blue light and UV, both indoors and outdoors. The campaign asks people to share hashtagged photos (#GoodLightProject) of themselves in their favorite light.
Here, EB catches up with Chung to learn more.
The Good Light Project…
I had some UV damage to my eyes. I am also on my phone 24/7, so I’ve become aware of blue light. Transitions is perfect for me, because I only need one pair throughout the day, regardless of where I am. And that’s a message I wanted to promote.
Eyewear trends du jour…
I love the simple, round, oversized metal frames. “Dad Frames” are also big now. I was just at Coachella, and it seemed everyone had tinted lenses.
“Nailing” social media…
Let your patients know you’re looking for followers and reviews. Give them an incentive to do it…like a regular giveaway once a month: Post the rules, create a hashtag to be used, and ask followers to tag a friend as well.
Creating a successful blog…
Put some effort into it. Use great images and content that makes people want to keep coming back. Be true to you and your brand and image, whatever it is.
