A CLOSER LOOK
A Changing Polar Gray
Younger Optics debuts a versatile new sun lens—featuring its NuPolar prescription polarized lens technology—that adjusts its darkness according to sun exposure.
The tint level of the NuPolar Infinite Gray is controlled with a new UV-responsive photochromic technology that offers the widest range of light absorption of any polarized photochromic lens, according to Younger Optics. Its lightest state has a transmission level of approximately 35% when in low light, overcast conditions, or shade. Its darkest state allows just 9% transmittance when in full sun.
The lens is now available in semi-finished single-vision polycarbonate, and a wide range of base curves. Coming soon is a version in single-vision hard resin.
Eyecare professionals who visit the Younger Optics booth for a demo during Vision Expo East will be eligible for a free-fit coupon.

“The No. 1 complaint I hear about polarized lenses is that they’re too dark. The second most common is that they’re too light!”

New Eye-Tracking Tests
RightEye has launched its new RightEye EyeQ testing system. EyeQ uses quick, computer game-style vision tests on an eye-tracking computer and proprietary, cloud-based vision tests to provide information about how a patient’s eyes and brain are working together, leading to earlier indicators of and treatments for a range of vision, health, and performance issues. The tests are delivered through a portable all-in-one computer with an embedded eye tracker.
EyeQ testing can provide early assessments of autism, Parkinson’s disease, reading challenges, sports vision, and more. It was recognized as an honoree in the CES 2018 Innovation Awards.
