EnChroma, Inc., hired Rob Maser as vice president of sales and Katherine O’Connor as vice president of marketing, e-commerce, and brand strategy.
1 Giovanni Zoppas left his role as executive vice chairman of Marcolin Group, while still remaining a director of the board. Zoppas will focus on Thélios in the role of CEO and general manager of the joint venture established by Marcolin with the LVMH Group. This is part of an agreed-upon plan between the parties.
2 Wendy Hauteman has been named the new chief marketing officer for VSP Global. She succeeds Mark Ginsberg, who moves into a new role as chief giving officer.

3 Etnia Barcelona partnered with Von Miller of the Denver Broncos and his charitable foundation, Von’s Vision. As part of its contribution, the Etnia Barcelona Foundation recently donated more than 3,000 frames.
Safilo will open a state-of-the-art North American distribution center in Denver to improve its speed-to-market and increase service levels to customers across the region.
Separately, Safilo has announced the sale of its U.S. optical retail chain, Solstice, to Fairway, LLC.

Draper James, the Southern-inspired lifestyle brand founded by actress Reese Witherspoon with an eyewear collection by Altair, is partnering with VSP Eyes of Hope, which helps increase visioncare access to those disadvantaged by income, distance, and disaster.
AWARDS
Global Source Rx, Inc. (GSRx), received the Unity Lab of the Year award from VSP Optics. In recognition of the award, VSP Optics will donate $2,500 to the GSRx Foundation, which provides funding for projects that support visual health around the world.

SILMO Paris takes on the French capital at the Paris Nord Villepinte from Sept. 27-30, featuring new workshops, the SILMO Hackathon (a new retail competition), the established SILMO Academy, and more. Master eyewear craftsmen MOF Lunetiers will offer 30-minute sessions covering an array of trade-specific topics like shaping an original frame by hand, designing a custom mount, and merging materials and colors.
The 27th edition of the Hong Kong International Optical Fair is scheduled for Nov. 6-8, gathering more than 810 exhibitors from more than 20 countries and regions. Last year’s fair hosted a record 16,800 buyers from 111 countries and regions. The Brand Name Gallery, a highlight of the fair, will display nearly 230 renowned brands from all over the world. Plus, the 21st Hong Kong Eyewear Design Competition will unveil unique local creativity to international visitors.
