In this wildly unique, pandemic-fueled year, changing the game was truly more challenging than ever. Still, there were intense efforts by eyecare professionals focused on many causes and initiatives—from delivering support and tools for other ECPs hit by the Covid-19 crisis, to those who honed in on providing PPE for their local community, and to those raising the bar on diversity, equity, and inclusion in optometry.

And, so, in this very special issue of EB, we turn the spotlight on 11 incredibly inspiring men and women—optometrists, opticians, and optical retailers—who turned crisis into opportunity this year and helped usher in positive change in the vision care world.

The #EBGameChanger awards, celebrated across the industry, debuted in 2018 and we are proud to introduce you to the awardees of our third annual #EBGameChanger awards for 2020.

Unique times call for innovative solutions—and the 2020 awardees were photographed virtually by top Los Angeles photographer Jurgen Reisch, who worked with our team and the award winners utilizing the CLOS photo app to use the awardees’ iPhones to set up the shots and press the shutter remotely.
