◄ Barton Perreira announced the promotions of two long-term eyewear industry veterans: Tricia Valbuena has been appointed vice president of sales and marketing and Joe D’Orazio has been named as national sales manager.
The International Sports Vision Association appointed Donald Teig, O.D., FAAO, and Greg Appelbaum, Ph.D., to its board of directors. Dr. Teig is the founder and medical director of The A Team—High Performance Vision Associates and executive director of The I Gym visual performance training center in Sunrise, FL. Dr. Appelbaum is an associate professor in the Duke University School of Medicine, where he heads the Human Performance Optimization Lab (Opti Lab) and directs the Brain Stimulation Research Center.
Celeste Vos has been appointed as Silhouette Optical’s vice president of sales for the United States. Vos joins Silhouette most recently from Barton Perreira, where she spent the past 14 years as vice president of global sales.

CooperVision Specialty EyeCare’s Procornea DreamLite night lenses have received European approval for slowing the progression of myopia in children and young adults.
Essilor Vision Foundation (EVF) highlights CooperVision’s support of its mission of bringing essential vision services to underserved communities. EVF has shared that CooperVision has donated to the EVF Golf Classic every year since 2017, and in 2020, CooperVision made a contribution of $15,000, bringing its total lifetime support to $55,000.
VSP Global company Eyefinity announced a partnership with RevCycle Partners, designed to enable eyecare professionals to focus on patient care by outsourcing services, such as insurance billing and credentialing, through RevCycle Partners.
Johnson & Johnson Vision expanded its nonprofit program Sight For Kids, a collaboration between the company and Lions Clubs International Foundation to close the gap in access to eye health for children in low-income and underserved communities. In collaboration with the Florida Heiken Children’s Vision program, a division of Miami Lighthouse for the Blind, the program will bring comprehensive eye health services and treatment to students in low-income and underserved communities across Miami-Dade, Broward, St. Lucie, and Palm Beach counties in Florida.
◄ L’Amy America, part of International Luxury Group, has announced an agreement with Centennial Optical, a Canadian eyewear distributor, to distribute the Ben Sherman Eco Green eyewear collection both online and in stores.
National Vision Holdings, Inc., announced a new philanthropic collaboration with Americares and RestoringVision that will provide free eyeglasses to vulnerable populations in the U.S. over the next two years. The partnership will be executed through National Vision’s charitable foundation, 20/20 Quest.

Hoffman, O.D., received the ASCO Lifetime Achievement Award; Linda Casser, O.D., and Gary Chu, O.D., received the Dr. Jack Bennett Innovation in Optometric Education Award; Katherine Green, O.D., received the ASCO Rising Star Award; Elena Z. Biffi, O.D., received the Dr. Lester Janoff Award for Writing Excellence; and Tam Tran received the ASCO Student Award in Clinical Ethics.
