While this trifecta trend—nonsymmetrical design in oversized, geometric-leaning shapes—is seen across numerous indie eyewear brands, this sunglass from Mykita caught our eye in particular. Perhaps in part due to the exaggeration of the trend; perhaps in part due to the execution of the images from the creative mind of legendary photographer Mark Borthwick.
Part of Mykita’s new Studio 12 capsule collection, the Studio 12.3 (shown here) is an oversized hexagonal shape featuring asymmetrical lenses as a standout style element. The lenses are cut from a one-piece shield, creating an irregular border with an organic shape over the nose bridge. A small detail with a big impact.
