Keeping it Cool
Canada Goose is focused on cool—literally and figuratively.
“Our purpose—to keep the planet cold and the people on it warm—drives all that we do at Canada Goose,” says company president, brand and commercial, Carrie Baker.
Founded in Toronto in 1957 with roots in luxury outerwear, Canada Goose has since expanded into apparel, footwear, and now, via its partnership with Marchon, eyewear.
To get an inside look at its entrance into the frames sphere, EB recently received a tour of the brand’s sleek downtown Toronto store (equipped with a cold room to mimic the environment in which enthusiasts can rock their products) plus a visit to the Canada Goose HQ to see product firsthand.
Here, Baker and Massimiliano Maccanti, Marchon Eyewear senior director, global product and innovation, unveil exclusive details on the cool collab. For additional details on the launch, head to #EBNewProducts.

EB: What influenced the decision to expand into eyewear?
Carrie Baker: We know how to create long-lasting products without compromising on style or performance. For almost 70 years, we have been committed to craftsmanship and creating products that can truly withstand the harshest elements and decades of wear.
Over the past decade, we have built on our credibility as a trusted source for quality performance outerwear and evolved into an all-season head-to-toe lifestyle brand. Eyewear was a natural next step for us when delivering on our promise to protect consumers from head to toe in any environment. This collection includes core design elements that deliver on that promise—from lightweight sustainable materials to our Canada Goose disc, visible on the sunglass’s arms, to the use of polarized lenses and reflective accents.
EB: Can you share details on the brand’s sustainability emphasis?
CB: From prioritizing preferred fibers and materials in our production, to reducing the carbon footprint of our operations, to launching our own recommerce platform, Generations, being good for the world is at the forefront of everything we do.
Just like every product we design, we were intentional in our sourcing to ensure the selection of sustainable materials. Delivering on our promise to provide quality, style, and comfort, Canada Goose’s first-ever eyewear collection was engineered to protect consumers from the elements in any environment. Incorporating signature design details and performance attributes, we worked closely with Marchon to expertly craft each product, using premium sustainable materials that are certified bio-based and recycled, including Acetate Renew, plant-based resin, aluminum, and titanium.

EB: What’s key to the collection? Which style is your favorite?
Massimiliano Maccanti: We’ve introduced timeless styles in a variety of shapes, sizes, and fittings. The design of our models is further elevated by customized elements and meticulous attention to lenses. Notably, some styles feature the revolutionary Sideris Lenses to ensure the best visual experience in every environment. Our color palette is neutral and inspired by natural elements, featuring matte finishes, dark havanas, and translucent colors that evoke Arctic landscapes.
If I had to choose one style, my favorite would be the GC25600S Summit—multifunctional bio-injected sunglasses designed with removable temples that can be easily replaced with a sporty strap. This style is equipped with innovative Sideris Lenses and embodies the minimalist elegance and performance attitude of the brand.
