Alcon announces the U.S. launch of a treatment for dry eye disease (DED), Tryptyr (acoltremon ophthalmic solution) 0.003%.
According to Alcon, Tryptyr demonstrates a statistically significant increase in tear output as early as day one of treatment—a faster-acting option compared with other DED treatments.
Alcon provides resources to support eyecare professionals prescribing the therapy, including a dedicated dry eye sales team and educational materials, in addition to a “First Fill Free” trial program and ongoing copay support for eligible patients.

The HPE-990 is available in five models, from the base HPE-990 N to the HPE-990 Pro, which includes integrated drilling and Deep Step Bevel technology for step bevels up to 20 mm to accommodate lens-over-frame eyewear styles.

Hoya Vision Care launches Hoya Polarized Lenses with Lumacore Mirrors, lenses that embed both the mirror and polarized filter within the lens material—designed to enhance durability, reduce glare, and maintain visual clarity while offering long-lasting aesthetics, according to the company.
The embedded mirror resists scratching, peeling, and wear over time, unlike surface-applied coatings, Hoya shares.
The lenses are available in two initial options—silver mirror with gray polarized and gold mirror with brown polarized—with additional colors planned.
