June 18, 2020 — Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, many companies in the industry and beyond are sharing their efforts to help eyecare professionals, and the public, weather these turbulent times.
Here, we share a roundup of some recent initiatives:
Visual Clinic, developer of patient flow and operational productivity solutions for eyecare clinics, recently launched its Safe Visits application. The software module provides ECPs with a streamlined care process aimed to safely and efficiently guide patients and staff through appointments in the post-Covid-19 environment.
Wiley X teamed up with John Marchand, mayor of Livermore, CA, where the company is headquartered, to provide 10,000 KN95 masks for local distribution to hospitals, law enforcement officers, fire personnel, and health care professionals. The company is also donating 20,000 face shields equipped with a protective PET plastic shield with an anti-fog coating, elastic strap, and brow foam which allows a universal fit to eyecare practices across the country. ECPs interested in receiving support from Wiley X that are not set up as a current dealer can contact the company at 877-4WILEYX or opitcalcs@wileyx.com.
