March 11, 2021 — Optometry Giving Sight (OGS) has launched its 2021 grant funding cycle, with opportunities to submit applications in both the spring and fall.
North American nonprofit organizations and international charities who meet the criteria can begin applying. OGS funds organizations that focus on the following:
- Providing education for eyecare professionals.
- Establishing or supporting optometry schools, eye clinics, vision centers, and optical labs.
- Delivering eye exams and low or no-cost glasses to underserved or marginalized populations.
Applications will be informed of funding decisions for the spring applications by May 31.
OGS has shared that the range of awards is based on the project, with a maximum award of $100,000. Acceptance is contingent upon the amount of funding available and the number of proposals received.
Additionally, the second round of grantmaking will take place in the fall.
