Sept. 12, 2023 — Johnson & Johnson Vision (J&JV) has joined the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB), joining more than 200 organizations to advocate for improving eye health worldwide with a goal to end to avoidable sight loss by 2030. As a Band A Member, Johnson & Johnson Vision will offer expertise in areas such as refractive error and cataracts to enhance IAPB’s advocacy work.
“We are delighted to welcome Johnson & Johnson Vision to the IAPB…[to work] toward a world where no one experiences unnecessary or preventable sight loss and everyone, everywhere can reach their full potential,” says IAPB CEO Peter Holland.
“More than 2 billion people worldwide suffer from vision impairment that’s either preventable or treatable. While we’ve come an incredibly long way in terms of treatments and health standards, we have a long road yet to travel,” says Peter Menziuso, company group chairman, Johnson & Johnson Vision. “We are honored to join the IAPB to help advocate for better eye health and know our collective actions…have the potential to improve the future of eye health around the world.”
Additionally, the company has joined the Love Your Eyes campaign as a World Sight Day Global Partner, where J&JV will join other partners to emphasize the importance of prioritizing eye health to benefit employee productivity, safety, and overall well-being under the theme “Love Your Eyes at Work.”
