Oct. 4, 2023 — Mido, the international eyewear show set to take place Feb. 3-5, 2024, at Fiera Milano in Italy, is now accepting applications for the second edition of its Certified Sustainable Eyewear (CSE) Award, which assesses sustainability in the eyewear industry at an international level.
Created by Mido, ANFAO (Associazione Nazionale Fabbricanti Articoli Ottici), and Certottica, the award is divided into six categories: CSE Award Sunglasses Europe, CSE Award Sunglasses Rest of the World, CSE Award Frames Europe, CSE Award Frames Rest of the World, CSE Award Cases Europe and CSE Award Cases Rest of the World. The following are some of the criteria the jury will use to determine the winners: recycled materials, reduced consumption in the production and distribution processes, maximization of the supply chain, elimination of waste, degree of recyclability, use of renewable resources, and any certifications already achieved.

Applications for the BeStore Award will open on Oct. 18, followed by the Stand Up for Green Award on Oct. 26.
