Aug. 16, 2023 — The Vision Council (TVC) has released a Back-to-School guide, educating parents and caregivers on the importance of annual eye exams and encouraging them to schedule an appointment for their children before the school year starts.
 
To help spread the word about the importance of scheduling eye exams during the back-to-school season, eyecare professionals can access the toolkit for printable posters and shareable social media graphics.
 
“An eye exam is just as important as your child’s annual physical,” says Ashley Mills, CEO of TVC. “Vision is critical to class participation, learning, and long-term success. A short appointment can prevent blurry vision, eye strain, headaches, and frustration; plus, it can detect other health issues such as high blood pressure, cholesterol, and diabetes.”
