Professional Eye Care Associates of America (PECAA) has introduced PECAA Launch, an updated version of its cold-start program aimed at assisting new private practices from initial planning to full operation.
The program offers a complimentary first-year membership that includes access to vendor programs designed to reduce the financial burden of opening a practice, as well as advisory resources to aid in decision-making. In the second year, members receive significantly reduced fees to further support practice growth.
“PECAA’s cold-start program has a long history of empowering more than 300 doctors on their entrepreneurial journey with expert guidance, resources, and connection-building opportunities,” says PECAA president Jonathan Worrall.
The initiative includes an expanded selection of vendor partnerships, focusing on equipment, software, and optical fixtures to minimize upfront investment. Members also gain access to PECAA’s business advisory services, covering finance, strategy, billing, coding, marketing, and optical expertise.
In addition, PECAA has added Shaun Damico to its business advisory team. Damico, who has more than 20 years of experience in ophthalmic leadership and practice advising, will work alongside Jenny Wiley, the creator of the original cold-start program, to provide guidance to new practice owners.
“I gained a lot of value and support from PECAA’s cold-start program, now PECAA Launch, as I was navigating the waters of opening a private practice,” says Chun AuYeung, OD, of Eyes on Norbeck in Rockville, MD. “PECAA’s business advisors helped me maximize insurance reimbursements, and … I also save a substantial amount of money through the vendor programs.”
PECAA Launch is part of a broader range of membership options aimed at supporting eye care professionals throughout their careers. More information about the program is available here.
