Bausch & Lomb has appointed Brian J. Harris as chief financial officer and corporate vice president. He will be based at Bausch & Lomb's world headquarters in Rochester, N.Y. Hoya Vision Care North America has named Michael Ness director of new product development. Ness recently served as vice president of sales and marketing for Vision-Ease Lens. Innereactive Media announced the addition of Kristin Giles to their team of optical marketing specialists. Giles specializes in helping optical professionals identify their competitive niche and communicate it to their target audience. Innereactive's Kristin Giles Prevent Blindness America added two new executive staff members to its organization, Jacinda D. Adams and Jerome D. Desserich. The group also named Jeff Todd, formerly vice president of the organization, as chief operating officer, and Andrea Densham, formerly senior director, was promoted to vice president. Transitions Optical, Inc., has named Scott Henning director of its eyecare professional and professional development team. Henning will be in charge of developing and driving initiatives to support eyecare professionals through education and marketing programs. |
BUSINESS UPDATES
Hoya Vision Care North America has teamed up with Cleinman Performance Partners to offer the Hoya/Cleinman Graduate Connections Grant Program. The $250,000 program offers U.S. schools of optometry an opportunity to present a student workshop about private optometry practice ownership.
Transitions Optical, Inc., announced that Trevor Immelman and Kenny Perry, both professional golfers on the PGA TOUR, will serve as official spokespersons and will join Transitions Optical as healthy sight ambassadors.
AWARD
Mark Andre, FAAO, an associate professor of optometry at Pacific University, was recently awarded the Contact Lens Society of America (CLSA) Joseph W. Soper Award for Excellence in Education.
GOOD DEEDS
Davis Vision has joined forces with the Public Health Management Corp. (PHMC) to provide free vision care and eye-glasses to local uninsured homeless individuals. Eligible patients at the Mary Howard Health Center in Philadelphia will benefit from this new community relationship.

At a recent 50th anniversary celebration, Robertson Optical Laboratories' Calvin Robertson and Richard Robertson were honored by their employees with a "50 Years of Excellence" plaque.
