Focus on Buying
Stephanie K. De Long
If you or one of your associates is planning to attend International Vision Expo West in Las Vegas, it’s definitely time to consider your CE options. The education portion of the show runs from October 2 through 5 at The Sands Expo & Convention Center and will include 18 hours under the Frame Buyer Certificate Program umbrella.
Co-sponsored by The Vision Council’s Eyewear and Accessories Division, along with Eyecare Business, these ABO-accredited courses are designed to help you streamline the process of managing, monitoring, positioning, and promoting your frame inventory. Delivered by a diverse group of optical industry and outside experts, the courses will deliver hands-on information that today’s buyers, dispensers, and managers need to know.
If you take a total of eight hours on this track, you’ll automatically become a graduate of the Frame Buyer Certificate Program and will receive a certificate of completion to display at your location.
So, who’s previously completed these certificate programs? Past attendee records reflect a broad spectrum of professional and job functions—from practice and dispensary managers to ODs looking to learn more about the purchasing (and dispensing) process…and, of course, dispensing staff and buyers from businesses big and small.
If your schedule doesn’t allow for eight hours on this track at Expo West, no problem. You can complete them at another Vision Expo show, and still earn the certificate.
For information on a few of the courses slated for the Frame Buyer Certificate Program in October, look at the “What They Said” column to the left.
Regardless of what category of classroom education you’re interested in, we hope you’ll take advantage of the variety of offerings at Vision Expo West. Though October may seem far off, now is the time to start planning—and registering for—both the show and its full range of CE offerings.
