Shamir has announced the release of Glacier Plus AR coating on finished single-vision lenses, now available in Transitions Generation 8. Eyecare professionals can order directly through Shamir and VisionWeb.

The Glacier Plus AR coating is designed to provide patients with a glare-reducing solution by resisting scratches and repelling water, dust, and smudges via an easy-to-clean lens, according to Shamir.

Shamir also shares that the ability to order stocked, finished single-vision lenses with Glacier Plus AR coating provides ECPs with the brand’s premium quality “off-the-shelf,” resulting in faster turn times for patients.

 The current available materials for finished single-vision lenses are 1.50 Clear/CR-39, 1.53 Clear, 1.53 Blue Zero, 1.59 Poly Clear, 1.59 Blue Zero, 1.67 Aspheric Clear, and Transitions Gen 8 Gray and Brown.
