Zeiss expands its PhotoFusion X photochromic lens collection with a burgundy option, adding to a lineup that includes gray, brown, blue, pioneer green, and extra gray tints. PhotoFusion X lenses are designed as a next-generation photochromic solution, Zeiss shares, developed using a new lens material, faster-reacting dye compounds, and a speed-optimized carrier matrix.
The PhotoFusion X technology is integrated into the Zeiss BlueGuard lens material, providing UV protection and blue-light filtering in both clear and activated states. According to Zeiss, the lenses block up to 50% of potentially harmful blue light indoors and up to 94% outdoors when fully activated. Additional features include sunglass-level outdoor darkness, clarity in indoor environments, and faster transitions between light and dark states compared to traditional photochromic lenses, Zeiss shares.
The lenses are available across a range of indices and are compatible with Zeiss DuraVision coatings and flash mirror options.
