Silhouette has unveiled its new Iconic Shades collection, drawing inspiration from the bold shapes and architectural volumes of 1970s eyewear design.
The collection reflects the influence of Dora Demmel, a designer who helped define Silhouette’s aesthetic direction in the 1970s. Known for her distinctive approach to proportion and volume, Demmel contributed to a design language characterized by expressive forms and strong geometry, Silhouette shares. The new release pays tribute to her legacy with 4 updated styles—Dora One, Dora Two, Dora Three, and Dora Four—each reinterpreting signature elements of her work.
A curated color palette accompanies the launch, including neutral tones such as Cream Powder, Cream Blush, Dark Olive, and Mocha Mousse, alongside brand signature shades Apricot and Bright Ivory. Select styles are available with a yellow-brown gradient lens option. The frames are created with the company’s SilhoPure 3D-printed material combined with titanium components.
Pictured above, the Dora Two features an oversized, beveled acetate front and a low temple line.
The Dora Four is a classic square frame, a refresh of Silhouette’s original Sunset model, with an angled lower outer edge.
