The Marcolin brand, ic! berlin, marks its 30th anniversary in 2026 with the launch of a limited-edition capsule collection and a global campaign highlighting the brand’s heritage and design approach.
Founded in 1996 in Berlin, shortly after German reunification, ic! berlin has built its identity around minimalist eyewear design and engineering, particularly its use of cold-rolled stainless steel and a screwless hinge system. The company has continued to focus on lightweight and flexible frame construction over the past 3 decades.
To commemorate the milestone, the brand has introduced a 6-style anniversary collection. The release includes 4 existing stainless-steel designs—Leif, Wanda, Oli the 2nd, and Pina—alongside 2 new styles, Sodium and Xenon. A new color option, described as “Transformative Teal,” has also been introduced. Frames in this color feature matching photochromic lenses that are designed to transition between indoor and outdoor lighting conditions.
The Sodium, pictured above, is an optical style constructed with a rectangular stainless-steel front featuring a double-thickness profile. The temples incorporate acetate tips in the collection’s new “Transformative Teal” color, and the frames include the brand’s signature screwless hinge.
The Xenon is a sun style with a rectangular stainless-steel front, photochromic lenses, and temples that feature acetate tips in the new “Transformative Teal” colorway.
In conjunction with the product launch, ic! berlin has unveiled an anniversary campaign titled “I See Berlin.” The campaign focuses on the cultural and creative identity of Berlin and features a group of artists and creatives who are connected to the city.
